It is a village integrated in the parish of Longueira / Almograve. The parish, established in 2001, offers a wide variety of landscape, from the plains, the river valley and the coast which has beautiful beaches embedded in cliffs and extensive sandy beaches. The rocky coastline and the dunes of Almograve have species of unique and beautiful plants and the fauna of the coast is very rich and diverse.
At the economic level, the parish is now living from agricultural activities, fishing and tourism. The visit: the Windmill (located in Longueira near Almograve), the fishing port "Lapa das Pombas ," one of the smallest of the Costa Alentejana, but it has a great beauty; it is also recommended the pedestrian pathwith beginning in Almograve.
